Hot Tub Service

Installing a hot tub is more than placing it in your backyard — it requires proper planning, safe site preparation, and an understanding of how the environment will affect the equipment. At Tactical Aquatics, we help homeowners prepare their space correctly, so their spa is safe, supported, and ready for years of enjoyment.

Preparing Your Spa Site

Choosing the Right Location

Before your spa is delivered, it’s important to ensure the installation area is properly prepared. A well‑planned site improves safety, protects your investment, and makes long‑term maintenance easier.

We help you assess:

  • Access for delivery and safe placement

  • Adequate space for the spa, steps, cover lifters, and accessories

  • Clear working access on all sides for future service

  • Privacy considerations for you and your neighbours

  • Noise impact, especially in smaller yards

  • Safe distances from electrical lines and compliance with local codes

Proper planning ensures your spa is positioned safely and comfortably within your outdoor space.

Structural Support, Weight & Moisture Considerations

A filled hot tub can weigh up to 2,000 kg (2 tons) — and that load must be supported safely.

Your installation surface must:

  • Be a continuous, level, ground‑level base capable of supporting heavy loads

  • Provide full contact with the bottom of the spa

  • Remain stable despite moisture, drainage, or seasonal ground movement

  • Support the weight of the spa, water, and bathers without relying on the spa’s lip

We also ensure the area allows moisture to drain safely. Spas release humidity and occasional splash‑out; proper drainage prevents damage to decks, foundations, and surrounding structures.

Installing Your Spa

Once the site is ready, installation involves two key steps:

Electrical Connections

All spas require dedicated electrical service. A licensed electrician must complete the wiring according to local electrical codes and safety standards. This ensures proper grounding, GFCI protection, and safe operation.

Initial Startup

After delivery and electrical hookup, we assist with the initial startup process. This includes:

  • Inspecting the installation

  • Ensuring the spa is level and properly supported

  • Confirming safe electrical operation

  • Performing a full system check

  • Cleaning and preparing the spa for first use

New spas often contain residual water from factory testing, so a thorough cleaning and system flush is recommended before regular use.
