Military Swim Training

Military Swim Training at Tactical Aquatics is designed to build water confidence, endurance, and operational swimming technique for candidates preparing for military, law‑enforcement, and special operations pathways. Training emphasizes efficiency, calm under pressure, and the ability to perform in challenging environments, including long‑distance swims, fin work, and fully‑clothed drills.

Core Training Focus

A streamlined, low‑profile stroke used in military and special operations environments. Training develops rhythm, glide, and efficiency to reduce drag and conserve energy over long distances.

Water Confidence & Treading

High‑volume treading sessions (often 10+ minutes) build comfort, control, and endurance. Sessions may include hands‑out, gear‑assisted, or uniformed variations to simulate real‑world demands.

Fin Swimming

Scuba‑fin conditioning builds powerful, sustained leg drive for open‑water operations. Training includes interval sets, long‑distance swims, and technique refinement.

Fully‑Clothed Swimming

Swimming in fatigues or weighted clothing prepares candidates for operational scenarios and improves strength, drag management, and confidence under load.

Key Conditioning Workouts

50–50 Endurance Set

Ten rounds of:

  • 50m Freestyle

  • 50m Combat Swimmer Stroke A balanced 1,000m session that develops aerobic capacity and stroke efficiency.

100–100 Advanced Set

A progression of the 50–50 workout:

  • Ten rounds of 100m Freestyle + 100m CSS Ideal for candidates preparing for higher‑level military swim standards.

Speed & Strength Intervals

  • 10 × 100m fast Designed to improve anaerobic threshold, pacing discipline, and overall swim speed.

  • Performance Goals

  • Training is structured to help candidates achieve:

  • Consistent 500m and 1,000m times

  • Greater comfort in deep water and high‑stress environments

  • Operational readiness for military swim assessments
